Ragi puttu

Ragi or finger millet flour is a healthy option to make various snacks. Especially for kids this is a great choice. This can be introduced to babies in the form of porridge and helps on a healthy weight gain. This flour can be used to make pakoda, kozhukattai, dosa,pancakes, adai and many more. Here is a very simple ragi puttu recipe made using ragi flour,jaggery and coconut. So this adds to the list of healthy evening snacks for kids as well as adults. It is easy to prepare and tasty too. Ingredients:
  • Ragi flour- 1 cup
  • Shredded coconut- 1/2 cup
  • Jaggery-1/2 cup 
  • Ghee- 3 tsp


Preparation :
  • In a bowl mix ragi, powdered jaggery with very little water, enough to wet the flour.
  • Place in a steamer for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Switch off flame and add the coconut and ghee and mix well.
  • Serve hot or cold.
