Gobi Mattar or cauliflower green peas masala is a easy to prepare side dish for rotis or rice. You can also add boiled potato cubes to it if you want. This can be stuffed in breads for a tasty sandwich or rolled in chappathi for a yummy veg wrap.
Ingredients:
- Cauliflower florets_ 1 cup
- Onion-1
- Green peas- half cup
- Chilly powder-1 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder-1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp (optional)
- Oil-2 tsp
- Salt
- Annie seeds (perunjeerakam)-1 tsp
Preparation:
- Chop the onions. Wash the florets and put it in a bowl of hot water with turmeric and keep it closed with a lid for 5 minutes.
- Drain the water and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the Annie seeds to it and let it sputter.
- Add the chopped onions and stir fry for few seconds.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell leaves.
- Add the green peas and stir fry for few seconds.
- Add the cauliflower florets,chilly powder and coriander powder and needed salt.
- Stir fry and cover with a lid and simmer until the veggies get cooked.
- Serve it as a side dish for rotis or rice.
