Gobi mattar stir fry/Cauliflower peas masala

Gobi Mattar or cauliflower green peas masala is a easy to prepare side dish for rotis or rice. You can also add boiled potato cubes to it if you want. This can be stuffed in breads for a tasty sandwich or rolled in chappathi for a yummy veg wrap. 


Ingredients:
  • Cauliflower florets_ 1 cup
  • Onion-1
  • Green peas- half cup 
  • Chilly powder-1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder-1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp (optional)
  • Oil-2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Annie seeds (perunjeerakam)-1 tsp

Preparation:
  1. Chop the onions. Wash the florets and put it in a bowl of hot water with turmeric and keep it closed with a lid for 5 minutes.
  2. Drain the water and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add the Annie seeds to it and let it sputter. 
  4. Add the chopped onions and stir fry for few seconds.
  5. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell leaves.
  6. Add the green peas and stir fry for few seconds.
  7. Add the cauliflower florets,chilly powder and coriander powder and needed salt.
  8. Stir fry and cover with a lid and simmer until the veggies get cooked.
  9. Serve it as a side dish for rotis or rice.
