Samosas are the perfect tea time snacks.
Want to try something different with channa? Here is channa Samosa recipe made out of wheat flour. This is different from the usual Samosa fillings and is very tasty.
This is made by grinding the cooked channa and adding masala to it along with onions. I just wanted to give a try and see how it turns and it was really delicious.
Step by step instructions :
For the outer cover:
1. Make a dough out of wheat and roll out few chappathis. I used ready made,uncooked chapathis from the store.
2. Cut it into 4 halves.
For the filling:
1. Soak channa for atleast 6 hours and pressure cook it until it turns soft. Grind the channa in a mixie.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add the fennel seeds.
3. Add chopped onions and saute.
4. Add the channa and saute for few seconds.
5. Add chilly powder, turmeric powder,Cumin powder and garam masala and mix well.
Preparing the samosas
1. In a bowl add a spoon of maida and little water. Make a paste.
2. Now make cones using the chapathi .
3 fill it with the prepared channa filling.
4. Seal the corners with the maida paste.
5. Heat oil in a pan and drop the samosas gently in hot oil.
7. Remove from oil and drain excess oil using paper towels.
Ingredients:
Uncooked wheat chapathis- 3 nos
Cooked channa- 100 grams
Onion-1
Coriander leaves- a few
Garam masala-1/2 tsp
Chilly powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder-a pinch
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Oil-for deep frying
Method:

6. Saute until raw smell of masala leaves and then mix in the coriander leaves. Filling is ready.

4. Seal the corners with the maida paste.
5. Heat oil in a pan and drop the samosas gently in hot oil.
6. Fry until it turns golden brown.
7. Remove from oil and drain excess oil using paper towels.
8. Serve hot with ketchup.
