Bread jamun

Here comes a yummy sweet, bread jamun ready in a jiffy! This is such an easy recipe that you cannot wait to try. There is always left over bread and have to use it up some way and every time I try different recipes. This time I really wanted to try the bread jamun recipe that I have come across in lot of websites so made these delicious jamuns which did not take much of my time. An easy to prepare evening snack with readily available ingredients.Give it a try and you will really love it. 



Ingredients:
  • Bread slices-8
  • Milk-1/4 cup
  • Sugar-1 cup
  • Water-1/2 cup
  • Elaichi powder-1/4 tsp
  • oil/ghee- for deep frying

Preparation :
  • Remove the brown crust from corners of the bread slices.
  • Add milk little at a time and knead it to a soft dough or you can dip the slices in milk and squeeze out the excess milk and grind it in a mixie for a smooth dough.
  • Make small sized balls.
  • Heat oil/ghee in a fry pan.
  • Add the balls to the oil and fry until golden brown.
  • Prepare sugar syrup in a vessel by dissolving sugar in water and switch off when it reaches sticky consistency and add elaichi powder.
  • Add the fried bread balls to the sugar syrup and let it get soaked for at least 2 hours.
  • Serve it warm or chilled. you can top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
